Campers

Children in Summers at LREI come from public and independent schools across the New York City area, as well as from other states and countries.

Roughly 90% of the children in our programs attend schools other than LREI during the year. Our goal is to create a safe environment where children can form new friendships and feel themselves to be part of a camp community. We welcome a diverse population, including children who are visiting the United States and those who have specific needs that we are equipped to accommodate.

Faculty

All teachers on the camp staff have experience with and a genuine love for working with children. Some are full-time teachers at LREI or other independent schools. Some are Associate teachers or teachers from the Afterschool program at LREI. Others are professional visual artists, actors, musicians, and dancers who have years of experience sharing their creativity with children. Nearly 80% of the Head Counselors in Little Red Summer Camp are returning teachers.
